IMIST (International Minimum Industry Safety Training) is an OPITO standard which supports the global Oil and Gas Industry to meet safety initiative targets.
- IMIST has been developed to provide a new global standard for Health and Safety training, which will provide a comprehensive and consistent level of training across the world and enhance work force safety and compliance.
- The IMIST standard ensures that workers have the necessary safety awareness and training to reduce risk and ultimately reduce the number of incidents.
- Significant cost savings and ease of recruitment are also expected, as IMIST will reduce the need to continually repeat and duplicate training.
- IMIST is currently available in 13 languages; American and UK English, Arabic, Hindi, Bahasa Malaysian, French, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, Russian, Kazakh, Danish and Farsi.
The IMIST Online course costs $99 (US Dollars) plus an invigilation fee (varies from centre to centre) and the certification is valid for 4 years. The IMIST course must be purchased and completed through one of our registered Invigilation Centres. You can search for your nearest centre here.
Alternatively you can register your company to invigilate the course as long as you have training room which meets our minimum requirements. You can view the minimum requirements here. If you would like to register then click here, after this has been submitted you will be sent forms electronically to fill in details about your training centre. Please remember to include a picture of your training room showing the PCs / laptops set up with your application.
A printable certificate will be provided at the end of the course and results will be uploaded to vantage within 24 hours of completion. If your learner does not have a vantage number then they will be provided with one.
